Icarus Landing is one of the Back Augmentations in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

Description[edit | edit source]

Essentially a safety device, the Icarus Landing System is an automatically-triggered augmentation that allows users to drop from extreme heights without incurring physical damage.

Media[edit | edit source]

Notes[edit | edit source]

This aug renders the user 100% immune to falling damage, when the user falls from a height that would be lethal, an animation is shown where Jensen uses the aug to descend from said height.

Even if the animation is not played, the player still maintains 100% immunity from falling damage in the game and thus can be extremely beneficial to players who do a lot of exploring as a safety net in case of accidental missteps.

When falling, the user can trigger what is known as "Icarus Strike" which is done by pressing the button prompt on screen (different for different systems), when done an animation is shown where Jensen punches the ground upon landing, delivering a shock wave to nearby surroundings and effectively rendering nearby opponents unconscious.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

This augmentation is shown in one of the intro cutscenes of the game, in M1 Black Market Buy when Jensen jumps out of the plane and activates the aug mid-flight in order to safely land on the roof the Dubai hotel.
